DC United 0, New York Red Bulls 1 | 2018 MLS Match Recap
After a weather-delayed start, Bradley Wright-Phillips didn't wait long to bring the Atlantic Cup goods to Audi Field, scoring his 100th MLS career goal -- all for the New York Red Bulls -- in the 2nd minute of an eventual 1-0 victory over D.C. United on Wednesday.
Shortly after the conclusion of an 87-minute delay due to lightning, MLS assist leader Kaku slipped a through ball that released BWP, who collected it back to his right foot. He curled a shot toward the near post that caromed off a diving David Ousted and into the back of the net. Wright-Phillips then shed his jersey to reveal ... another jersey, this one with the No. 100 replacing his usual 99.
Paul Arriola put a ball in the back of the net midway through the first half, but it was disallowed after a Video Review established that he was offside. Second-half sub Wayne Rooney went down in the 66th, looking for a penalty shout, but the teams played on following a check with the VAR.

- THE BIG PICTURE The Atlantic Cup came to Audi Field, and a thorough storm and lightning couldn't stop these two MLS original rivals from taking the pitch. After waiting nearly 1 1/2 hours to get underway, Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the first Atlantic Cup goal at Audi Field (yes, you might have heard - it was his 100th in MLS). D.C. hung with the Red Bulls, but couldn't quite find the opening they needed to sink their rivals in a match that leaves United looking up at everyone in the East.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH Really? This is a question today? SMH. Y'all have eyes.
